Esther Lederman came on March 27th to Clayton Middle to speak to the 7th grade about her time in hiding during World War II. She is 91 years old and was in hiding for 22 months to avoid being taken prisoner by the Nazis and sent to a concentration camp. She told the students her story, which has also been documented by The Center for Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Education of North Carolina Inc. The students learned first hand account of her survival and it was a valuable lesson.
