7th Grade Medical School a Success
Posted on 12/30/2015
Students in 7th grade science classes worked in collaborative groups to learn about the systems of the body and teach one another about them. Students were trained in medical specialties (Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Orthopedics, Urology). The project culminates with a day on which parents, staff, and student volunteers are invited to come in as "patients" and act out symptoms. and then as a clinic diagnosed patients who presented them with symptoms. Each patient was to be treated politely and hopefully leave the clinic with a proper diagnosis and recommend a course of treatment. According to Michael Butler, one of the science teachers,"We have a blast!"
