The CMS 7th grade AVID classes visited Campbell University on Thursday, November 19, 2015. Students toured the campus and visited the bookstore, the convocation center, the College of Education, and the new School of Osteopathic Medicine. Our AVID students were very interested by Campbell's School of Osteopathic Medicine, where future doctors are trained to manipulate patients’ joints and muscles to promote healing and overall health. Several of our own AVID students are interested in careers in the medical field, so visiting the School of Osteopathic Medicine was an amazing experience for them.
Campbell University is a private university in Buies Creek, NC, and it is close enough that Clayton-area students can commute if they choose. However, three of Mrs. Suggs’ former students who are now Campbell Camels came by to visit the CMS group, and they all live on campus. Each time Clayton Middle students visit a college campus, our college dreams become a little more real, and this is why AVID students visit local colleges and universities.
