Clayton vs. Archers Lodge 10/6/16

The Boys Soccer team won again yesterday, extending their winning streak to five games with a win over Archers Lodge.  The 4-2 win came with goals from Anthony Bernal,  Jonathan Escobar, Jason Cucue, and Donte Worlds.  The team hopes to win the conference with games against Riverwood on Monday and McGee’s on Wednesday. Keep up the great effort.

The Boys Soccer Team had a huge win yesterday in a nail-biter against Cleveland Middle School. The game remained scoreless due to the flawless defensive play. Hector Ibarra, Allen Jackson, Yostin Escobar, and David Holder were great for defense that we needed to win.  Ethan Metz held a clean in Goal.  No goals were scored until Anthony Bernal scored a shot from Hector Ibarra, corner kick with 20 seconds remaining in the second overtime period.  This brings the Boys’ record to an undefeated 4-0 and tied for first place in conference.

By Ethan Knapheide Smithfield at Clayton September 26 CMS Boys Soccer team had their first conference win against Smithfield 5-3, keeping their undefeated record alive at 3-0. Donte Worelds and Casey Duke each had one goal, but the big scoring burst came from Jonathan Escobar’s hat trick. The boys will keep the winning going on Wednesday when they travel to McGee’s. Clayton at Meadow September 20 The Clayton Eagles played a phenomenal game yesterday, with a final score of 9-0. Ethan Metz and Reagan Moynihan recorded all of the shutouts in the goal while David Holder and Allen Jackson anchored the defense. Hector Ibarra and Anthony Bernal led the team with two goals each. Donte Worelds ,Jonathan Escobar,Justin Escobar,Zack Sablich,and Jason Juarez all got in on the scoring action as well.

Selma at Clayton September 14

Clayton Middle hosted its first game of the season against Selma Middle. Anthony Bernal scored the first goal while Jonathan Escobar scored the second with an assist from his brother, Yostin. It was a shutout with a score of 2-0.
