Baseball: Head baseball coach Seth Schachle: When asked “ What is going to be different this year than last?” says “ Total domination, haha we’ll have a good time”. When asked if he prefers rain or sunshine he says “ What kind of question is that?Of course Sunshine!” We asked what he wanted his pitcher's ERA to be every game, “Zero every game”.
Baseball Assistant coach Trey Lassiter: He is pumped about his first year being apart of the Eagles baseball team. He also says that he is looking forward to a great season. He also states that every player will not be forced to wear eye black and that it's a personal choice. He also wants a manager that is someone that is willing to work hard and is committed to the team's success. He als will put 6th graders on the team if he feels that they are deserving.
Baseball VS Archer Lodge
The Eagles lost a close one in extra innings 11-10. It was a back and forth game the whole game. In extras The Eagles had a go ahead hit to get up 10-9. In the bottom of the 8th Archer Lodge rallied and had a walk off single to wijn 11-10. The eagles have their last game on monday at home against Smithfield on Monday. Until next time Go Eagles.

The boys lost in a close game on Wednesday. They lost 6-3, their next game is Thursday 4-27 away against Archer Lodge. Until next time Go Eagles!
Baseball VS Riverwood 4-20
Clayton lost against Riverwood. The game was called after 5 innings with a score of 13-0.
Baseball VS Cleveland 4-19
The Baseball team was struggling for the first 6 innings because cleveland was hitting the ball great, Cleveland was dominating 8-0. With great energy from the dugout to begin the 7th the score was 8-7. Cleveland managed to win and the eagles will play on thursday against riverwood. Until next time, Go eagles!
Baseball VS Smithfield 4-3
The starting pitcher Camden Kapusta had another great outing on the mound. He only allowed 1 run in four innings. The Eagles had a great night in the batter's box and scored 12 runs in only 5 innings. The rain was a factor but the Eagles handled it better than Smithfield. Clayton is happy about that win and have some momentum going into Thursday for an away game against Cleveland. Until next time Go Eagles!
Baseball VS Archer Lodge
Clayton squared off against Archer Lodges ace on Thursday. Even though the Eagles faced a great pitcher they jumped on him early on and had some momentum. The Gators were also hitting the ball in the gaps and were hitting pretty solid. The game was one of those that were just back and forth. The gators just had one too many hard hits to the outfield and one the game by one. The ending score was 8-7 in archer Lodge’s favor. The Eagles have a trip to Smithfield on 4-3. Baseball VS McGees
Clayton started off the game with the bats. Clayton had a ton of energy in the first inning and started off with a 3-0 lead. Camden Kapusta was the starting pitcher and had a phenomenal outing. McGees came up with a couple of runs in the 4th. In the 3rd Clayton scored 4 more and at the end of the 6th Clayton had a 6-2 lead. At the beginning of the 7th Camden's night was over, he had his best outing of the season and we hope for more great games from him. The game ended with an Eagle victory and Bennett Rich came in the game and ended it. Clayton won 6-4 and are excited for wednesday when the face off against Archer Lodge. Until then, Go Eagles!
Clayton vs Princeton Baseball
The game started with Clayton taking the field for the first time. Princeton took advantage of some mistakes and too a 2-0 lead to begin the 3rd. Clayton was having trouble at the plate with only earning three hits the whole game. Princeton scored a few runs on careless errors by the eagles. Princeton took the Win. The Eagles know that it was the first game and many to go. Clayton is looking forwards to Monday when the square off against Meadow Monday. Until then Go eagles.
Baseball vs North Johnston 3/16
The boys started well with allowing no runs in the top of the first. There were no runs scored by either teams until the Eagles had a good bottom of the 3rd. With great energy from everyone in the dugout, the eagles produced a couple of runs in the 3rd. Clay Clinard started the game on the mound and pitched 5 dominant innings while only allowing 1 run. With help from the closer Bennett Rich he allowed no runs in the last 2 innings, not to mention the great defence behind our two pitchers. The eagles energy kept on rising and had big 4th and 5th innings. The Eagles finished the nonconference schedule strong with a 9-1 victory over North Johnston. Until next time, Go Eagles!
Baseball VS Cleveland 3/20
The Eagles squared off against the Cleveland Rams on Monday afternoon for the first conference game. The Rams scored 5 in the early going but the starting pitcher for the Eagles Camden Kapusta settled in and got in a grove. In the 6th the eagles felt a sense of urgency to score and battled late in the counts and came out with two runs at the end of the 6th. In the top of 7th Cleveland scored two and the lead is now 7-2. The Eagles started a rally and scored to runs, the bases were loaded and we hit a line drive and got doubled up. The eagles were so close to hitting a walkoff hit. The eagles are being positive and happy we were able to fight back. The eagles face riverwood away on thursday afternoon. Until next time Go Eagles!
